Versailles: Day Trip From Paris

Versailles is a Palace in the Île-de-France region of France. The Palace is a short distance from Paris making it a perfect day trip adventure!

There are several areas to explore at Versailles: Palace, Gardens, Park, Gallery of Coaches, Estate of Trianon, Musical Garden Show, etc. My recommendation is the Passport ticket option because it covers everything for €27Ticket prices, tours, and hours of operation.

*The Versailles Estate is open and FREE to visitors on the first Sunday of the month from November to March.

The Palace

Walking through this beautiful palace you are transported to another world. Chandeliers, gold paint, exquisite artistry, The Hall of Mirrors, Royal Chambers, etc. If you have time for a day trip to Paris you won’t regret putting this on your list!

Gardens

Carefully designed and heavily maintained, The Gardens of Versailles are legendary. The design patterns, walks, fountains, groves, Orangery, and beautiful views are one of a kind.

The Park

A long stretch of grass, trees, and a man-made pond is a wonderful spot to rest for a picnic or take a walk.

Estate of Trianon

Home to the Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon palaces, as well as the Queen’s Hamlet and a variety of ornamental gardens.

Getting to Versailles from Paris

The cheapest and easiest route to Versailles from Paris is the RER C line. This is a train that runs from Paris to its suburbs. The ride will take about an hour to an hour and a half. Round trip the tickets to Versailles-Château – Rive Gauche are about €7.

I hope this helps in planning your travels! If you like what you see don’t forget to follow my blog! Au Revoir!
