4 Best Gelato Shops Across Italy

Italy is known for its delicious food which brings us to GELATO! I lived in Rome for three months and I was able to sample several shops and I have narrowed it down to my favorite! I was also able to grab some deliciousness while I traveled to surrounding cities I was able to visit.   I’ll go through each city and list off my favorites. To be honest I was on a mission to find the best Nutella (Nocciola) Gelato Shops in Italy!

1. Rome

Greezo Raw Chocolate has the BEST sweets and gelato in Rome hands down. They make it daily so it’s fresh, creamy, and light texture. They have options for gluten free, dairy sensitive, all natural, and sugar-free. It’s located in the Montee neighborhood of Rome near the Colosseum.

2. Naples

Gay Odin is Naples’ famous Gelateria Shop and there are several locations. It’s creamy/rich flavor was amazing on this rainy day in Naples. The line was long but worth the wait!

3. Florence

Venchi is the most popular Gelateria in Florence and I understand why. There are three locations in town, one of which is by the train station. If you are on your way out there’s still time to grab a bite before leaving the city.

4. Assisi

Gran Caffe Mazzini is my favorite because not only is the gelato delicious but the decor is beautiful and one of a kind. You can find it from Piazza del Comune, take Via Santa Chiara and it will be on the right. If you get to Basilica di Santa Chiara you’ve gone too far.

This is a short list but I only give you the best of the best gelato shops in Italy! I hope if you are traveling to any of these cities you’ll try some of my favorite places. I have a feeling they will become yours too.
