How To Travel And Stay Healthy

One of the biggest concerns, when you are traveling, is that you don’t want to get sick. There is nothing worse than trying to enjoy your vacation and get sick in the process. From planes, trains, and automobiles, germs are everywhere and it’s always a good idea to protect and strengthen your immune system. Essential oils aren’t just a phase or fad but a resource I have found that help, not just myself but so many others stay healthy.

What Are Essential Oils?

“Naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. They can be both beautifully and powerfully fragrant. Essential oils give plants their distinctive smells, essential oils protect plants and play a role in plant pollination.

In addition to their intrinsic benefits to plants and their beautiful fragrance, essential oils have long been used for food preparation, beauty treatment, and health-care practices……Essential oils can be used for a wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications. They can be used as single essential oils or in complex essential oil blends depending on user experience and desired benefit.” Doterra

How Can I Use Them?

Essential Oils can be used topically, ingested, and diffused. When you use the oil topically is sinks into your skin and then the bloodstream to take effect. The most common areas to apply oils topically are the base of the neck, behind the ears, the bottom of the feet, and wrists. These are places on the body where you have the biggest pores and the oils are more easily absorbed.

Ingesting essential oils is a quick way to get the oils in your system. Take caution when ingesting oils because you don’t want to overuse them and should look at advice from the company you choose to guide you in how to proceed ingesting oils.

I love Doterra Essential Oils and have been using them for a long time now. I both topically and ingest essential oils by Doterra. They have so many options and resources to help with starting out and how to move forward.

If you want to use essential oils as aromatherapy then defusing the oils in a defuser is what you are looking for. There are plenty of defusers on Amazon and in your local grocery store.

Which Oils To Use For Traveling?

Immune System

Copaiba, Frankincense, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Lemon, Clove and so many more.

Copaiba has some of the most variety of healthy benefits. It’s great for the immune system, cardiovascular system, circulatory system, burns, scraps, antioxidant, digestive system.

Frankincense supports the immune, nervous, and digestive systems when taken internally. It also helps with blemishes and overall skin appearance when applied to the skin.

Stomach Ache

Peppermint, Copaiba, Lavender, Lemon, Fennel, Ginger.

Peppermint, Lavender, and Lemon blend taken internally can help with digestive health and irritation. You can also apply the oils over the stomach for relief but I have found that taking them internally helps quickly.

Head Ache

Peppermint, Frankincense, Lavender

Peppermint applied to the back of the neck and behind the ears will give you a cooling sensation and work through your pores to your system to help relieve the pain. I have migraines now I only use essential oils for my migraines. I can’t say that you will have the same result as myself but I do find that it worked for most people to stop a headache coming on or one that has already started.

Frankincense applied to the roof of your mouth and behind the ears can help with not just the headache but with dizziness. For those of you that get Vertigo, it’s been great to help reduce and cut down the length of my vertigo.

Lavender can relax the muscles in the neck and shoulders helping reduce a tension headache.

Mosquitoes

Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Lemongrass, Tea Tree, Cedarwood. Create a mixture or use single oils topically or spray bottle to repel mosquitoes.
