The Ultimate Sound Of Music Tour Guide

The hills are alive…with the Sound of Music! If you are a fan of the classic musical then taking a tour is the BEST way to make sure you see everything Sound of Music related. I took the Panorama Sound of Music Tour while staying in Salzburg and it was one of the best days of ma life!

Sights to See

I am a super fan of the musical and on the bus, they had the soundtrack playing for an optional sing-a-long. Sights included on the tour:

  1. Mirabell Palace
  2. Nonnberg Abbey
  3. Von Trapp Villas
  4. Gazebo
  5. Mondsee
  6. Salzburg Lake District

Anything that the tour doesn’t cover you can literally stumble upon in Salzburg. Almost the entire town was filmed so you can find your favorite things all over the city. You can soak up all of the movie’s beautiful sights in a day and then still have time to wander around town and explore Salzburg, Old Town, get a bite to eat, and shop.

Cost and Time

At the time I went the tour cost €45/person and lasted for four hours. As you are on the bus or walking around each filming location, the guide gives you information and inside stories from the set. Compared to other tour prices it’s worth it just make room in the budget.  I would recommend this tour/ experience to anyone! It was extremely convenient to see everything The Sound of Music related in one afternoon.
