Top 6 Activities To Do In The Bahamas

There are so many different activities that you can find in the Bahamas. With its islands spread across the beautiful Caribbean, the list is diverse! In my experience, you can find an activity for anyone. Singles, families, couples, large/small groups, etc.

Beach

The Bahamas are known for their beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters. Let me tell you pictures don’t lie and they are even more beautiful in person! The water felt clean, clear, and was so blue and great to see fish if you were snorkeling.

Cabbage beach is where I spent most of my time when not doing other activities. This section is my favorite! It’s far enough away from Atlantis and other big hotels that it felt almost private. The sand was clean and the only day it was packed was when a cruise ship shuttled people to the beach. Other than that it was perfect!

Jetskis

You can rent Jetskis on Cabbage beach for $80/per person for 30 minutes.  It was a blast! Most of the Jetski companies I found you couldn’t drive it yourself and the one on cabbage beach I rented does. It’s just you and your jetski.

Seahorse Sailing

A Catamaran took us to Rose Island to snorkel off of Cannonball Reef. I sat in the net and felt like the Bachelorette minus the 25 men haha. The water, reef, and wildlife were all great! There was a nurse shark in the water when we got there but then didn’t show any interest to stick around. Plenty of colorful fish and a stingray during our snorkel time. It cost $75/person which includes snorkel equipment, rum punch, and beautiful views of beach and water.

Blue Lagoon

Blue Lagoon Island is a 25-minute boat ride from Paradise Island. It leaves from the Margaritaville docks in the morning at 10:15. The small island has beautiful beaches and on North Beach, the water is shallow but has beautiful and colorful fish/ underwater landscapes. Lunch, tubes, mats, and inflatable bounce are all included in the day pass for $70/person.

Besides the beaches and water activities, the main attraction is swimming with the dolphins.

Dolphin Encounters

The VIP Dolphin Swim was the package I had and that included playing, tricks, holding on to the dolphin and it pulls you, boogie board with the dolphin pushing your foot, hug, and kiss! You also have a photographer/ videographer there to capture every minute of the experience and when I say experience I mean just that! It was a complete and surreal experience that I don’t know if you can fully digest because they are such beautiful and playful animals. It was something I will never forget. ($100/person-photos not included)

Another option if you are wanting to experience the dolphins but save money is the Dolphin Kiss. You have the option to just have your picture taken with the dolphin kissing you for $20 and the picture is included. At the time I signed up it was just my sister and me so we had a little extra time and could pet, hug, and get a kiss from the dolphins. Either is great I think it just depends on what you want to spend and the experience you are looking for.

Sunset Cruise

Seahorse Sailing also offers a Sunset Cruise that includes dinner, a drink, and beautiful views of the water! $75/person

The Bahamas has plenty to do and see. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I hope you have as much fun in the Bahamas as I did! Stay tuned for more posts and travel tips. Don’t forget to follow my blog to stay in the loop!
